Engag­ing audi­ences on envi­ron­men­tal mem­o­ry, nature, and the pow­er of bear­ing witness

Here's me in action, defending the environmental movement at the 2024 Breakthrough Dialogue to a rather skeptical audience.

Through­out my career I’ve had the great plea­sure of speak­ing to a wide range of audi­ences on a broad range of envi­ron­men­tal sub­jects. I’ve deliv­ered lec­tures and talks at Brown Uni­ver­si­ty, UCLA, UC-Berke­ley, UC-Davis, UC-San­ta Bar­bara, Cal State Sono­ma, and Seat­tle Uni­ver­si­ty, among oth­er cam­pus­es. I’ve pre­sent­ed at South by South­west-Eco, The Eco­log­i­cal Farm­ing Asso­ci­a­tion Con­fer­ence, Bioneers, Green Fes­ti­vals, the Com­mon­wealth Club of Cal­i­for­nia, the Pub­lic Inter­est Envi­ron­men­tal Law Con­fer­ence, and the Break­through Dia­logues. I’ve talked at more gath­er­ings host­ed by local envi­ron­men­tal groups than I can recall. A cou­ple of times I have mod­er­at­ed polit­i­cal debates.
